Mylor History Group was formed in 2006 to gather information on Mylor's past, principally by recording oral histories. Early on we found ourselves collecting documents, photos, films etc. It became obvious that there was a huge historical resource within our community, that needed collection, copying and cataloguing, and storing.

A summary of our main activities follows

  • Recording oral histories of people with strong connections to the area, thus gathering valuable records of Mylor's past
  • Gathering documents, photographs, artefacts, and ephemera
  • Preserving old films of Mylor events by converting them to CD or DVD
  • History displays at community events including Anzac Day
  • Conducting history walks during SA History Week
  • Organising Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services
  • Researching Mylor men and women who rendered wartime service
  • Storing archival material at the Mylor Hall
  • Cataloguing the materials collected using a computer database
  • Maintaining good working relationships with other history groups in the Adelaide Hills
